Marbella’s dining scene is entering a bold and elegant new chapter with the arrival of Brasserie Astoria, now opening in Nueva Andalucía — one of the Costa del Sol’s most vibrant and prestigious neighborhoods.
Backed by the internationally renowned Frantzén Group, Astoria Marbella brings the soul of Stockholm’s celebrated culinary scene to Southern Spain. The concept was born from a shared vision between Michelin-starred chef Björn Frantzén and our founder Eric Ebbing, combining a love for hospitality, design, and world-class food.
The menu stays true to its roots with many dishes from the original Astoria in Stockholm, but with a twist – local, seasonal ingredients and Andalusian influences that give it a unique Costa del Sol identity.
Astoria Marbella isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a destination, where design, service, and storytelling come together to create something special. From interactive tableside elements to a space that balances elegance and warmth, everything is designed to make people feel something.

Björn Frantzén is the only chef in the world with three Michelin three-star restaurants
Björn Frantzén has reached an unprecedented milestone in the culinary world by becoming the only chef currently running three Michelin three-star restaurants simultaneously.
This achievement was officially announced at the Michelin Guide ceremony in Dubai, where Frantzén Group’s newest restaurant, FZN, received the coveted three Michelin stars. Opening just a few months ago in October 2024, FZN is now the first restaurant in the UAE to earn this top honor, quickly establishing itself among the world’s elite dining venues.
With this latest success, Björn Frantzén joins an exclusive club. His restaurants Frantzén in Stockholm (awarded three stars since 2018), Zén in Singapore (three stars since 2021), and now FZN in Dubai, make him the only chef to hold three separate Michelin three-star restaurants across three continents.
Only 152 restaurants worldwide currently hold three Michelin stars, highlighting the rarity of this accomplishment. The Frantzén Group’s global presence spans Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, setting new standards in fine dining.

Frantzén, Stockholm — Sweden’s first restaurant to earn three Michelin stars, awarded in 2018.

Bringing the Frantzén concept to Marbella means delivering a level of quality that is truly exceptional. The Frantzén Group currently operates three restaurants with three Michelin stars each — a historic achievement that makes them unique in the culinary world. This level of excellence is what the brand represents. Personally, I have never considered starting another restaurant since my focus has always been on real estate. However, this was a unique exception because it involved Björn Frantzén and the Frantzén Group. Collaborating with them meant committing to uphold their extraordinary standards and create an experience in Marbella that matches the quality and atmosphere of the original Stockholm Astoria. This represents a new level of fine dining in Marbella.

Brasserie Astoria Marbella is the latest creation from the globally acclaimed Frantzén Group, helmed by visionary Swedish chef Björn Frantzén. Known for redefining Nordic cuisine, the group has built a reputation for immersive, high-concept dining experiences that marry culinary artistry with architectural elegance and warm hospitality.
Frantzén, the flagship restaurant in Stockholm, holds three Michelin stars, placing it among the world’s finest. The group has since expanded with acclaimed locations in Harrods London, Singapore, and Bangkok, each reflecting Frantzén’s distinctive approach.
Astoria Marbella represents the Frantzén Group’s first venture in Spain. Located in the exclusive neighborhood of Nueva Andalucía, it combines the energy of the Costa del Sol with a refined yet accessible dining experience.
This project was co-founded with Eric Ebbing. Eric played a key role in bringing this vision to life — creating a space where excellent food, crafted cocktails, and elegant surroundings come together to foster genuine connections.

Astoria Marbella’s interiors, designed by the acclaimed Bishop Design studio based in Miami, showcase a sophisticated blend of Nordic minimalism and Mediterranean elegance. Adding a personal and artistic touch to the space is a hand-painted mural by local artist Sebastian Marc Graham, known as “Sebas.” This thoughtfully placed piece enhances the ambiance and contributes to the venue’s distinctive character.
The space features carefully selected natural materials and textures, subtle yet intimate lighting, that invites socializing. The live kitchen concept adds an interactive element, allowing guests to witness the craftsmanship behind each dish. My personal favorite is the steak frites — especially with the incredible quality of local meat we get here in Spain. But the dish I’m most proud of is the Toast Astoria. It really captures what we want to do with the menu.
